In the spring of 2026, the House of Music Hungary and World of Freddie will present, for the first time, the personal story of Freddie Mercury as you have never seen it before!
You can expect a unique multi-sensory experience that will bring you closer to this legendary figure.
Alongside plenty of original items from the Sotheby’s auction – stage costumes, personal items, pieces of furniture, manuscripts – the exhibition will recall Freddie’s lesser-known, personal side through never-before-heard stories and memories of his colleagues and friends.
Freddie -The Exhibition will present the journey of the rock star from the iconic public image to the real Freddie Mercury, across nine thematic spaces: from his musical rise and legendary concerts – including the legendary 1985 Live Aid performance – through his behind the screen personality, creative work and social life, to his private moments at home. The dramaturgy of the exhibition leads visitors from the well-known towards the lesser-known, occasionally offering glimpses into Freddie’s favourite habits and passions. The journey concludes a glimpse into his final years and the enduring legacy he left behind.
Visitors will be accompanied throughout by Peter Freestone, Freddie Mercury’s personal assistant for over 10 years, who appears in both audio and video, sharing his own stories to enrich the experience and the great collection of the exhibition.
