What if you could step into Freddie Mercury’s world — not as a fan, but as a guest? World of Freddie was born to make that possible. Built with love, guided by memory, and shaped by those who knew him best, this is not just another project about Freddie. It’s a personal journey into the life of one of music’s most iconic figures — not the stage legend, but the man behind the spotlight.
Led by passionate collector Tomas Hykel and supported by Peter Freestone, Freddie Mercury’s longtime personal assistant and friend, this unique umbrella project brings together exclusive items, private memories, and verified stories told by those who truly knew and loved Freddie. It’s raw, real, and refreshingly honest — not another tabloid piece.
What makes World of Freddie so special?
The authenticity. World of Freddie isn’t built on rumour or myth. It’s built on truth. It`s built on objects touched by Freddie himself. On the voices of his inner circle — the people who loved him not because he was famous, but because he was Freddie.
The collection includes rare items from the 2023 Sotheby’s auction, unseen photographs, handwritten letters, and deeply personal mementos. But what makes them powerful isn’t their price — it’s their story. Some had never been heard before. Until now.
Where It All Began
Tomas Hykel’s fascination with Freddie Mercury started in his childhood, when his parents introduced him to Queen’s music. He recalls Queen’s music bursting loudly from the radio every day. Over time, admiration grew into a lifelong mission to honour Freddie’s legacy in the most authentic way possible. In 2009, Tomas acquired the first item into his collection — a personally signed photo of Freddie from 1984. Since then, his archive has grown into something extraordinary: a living tribute to the man who once said, “I won’t be a rock star. I will be a legend.”
