Babies of The Rock Legend: On Four Paws

“I think I’d rather have a cat.” That was Freddie Mercury’s answer when asked if he wanted children — a simple, honest response that said it all. To Freddie, they were his family. His babies.

During his life, he cared for at least ten cats, each with its own unique personality — and each treated like royalty. Their names? Tom, Jerry, Oscar, Tiffany, Delilah, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Romeo, and Dorothy. He even dedicated his solo album Mr. Bad Guy to them.

Not Just Pets — Loved Ones

Some of Freddie’s cats were gifts from friends or partners, but most were from shelters. He preferred adopting alley cats to owning purebreds because he believed that those who had little deserved love and a home even more.

Delilah – Queen of the House

Delilah — a tabby gifted by Jim Hutton — ruled Garden Lodge like it was her palace. His love for her inspired him to write the song Delilah, featured on Queen’s Innuendo album.

Peter’s Favourite: Goliath

Goliath, a tiny black cat rescued from a sanctuary, would often curl up around Peter Freestone’s neck, like a scarf with a heartbeat.

Dining Like Royalty

Freddie’s cats ate like celebrities — eggs, sausages, bacon, and even toast, straight from his hand. Only Freddie was allowed to give them human food — that was their rule.

With World of Freddie, you get much closer — not to the icon, but to the man behind it all.
